Air Collective Heat Pumps

Where renewable energy is desired for the home but there is not sufficient space to dig trenches or drill a bore-hole for a ground source heat pump, then the air source heat pump is the ideal solution. The only space needed is an outside wall for the unit, this makes it ideal for any type of house, flat or apartment. A further advantage is the minimal installation required therefore cutting costs compared to the ground source version. Air source heat pumps work by using the energy from the outside fresh air and converting it into hot air for the interior. This can then be adjusted to suit the desired temperature for the user as well working in conjunction to supply energy for the hot water system, and also an under-floor heating system. An air source heat pump when working at full capacity can reduce the energy consumption and therefore utility bills of a regular gas or oil boiler by up to 50%.
